After Khabib Nurmagomedov dominated a top fighter in Edson Barboza at UFC 219, it didn’t take long for the war of words to heat up with ‘The Notorious’ one Conor McGregor.
Shortly after a lopsided win, McGregor did what McGregor does and took to Twitter calling Khabib’s performance ‘dog sh-t’. He also suggested that if Khabib wanted a fight, he should get on his knees and ‘beg’ for a fight.
If the UFC 219 post fight interview, Nurmagomedov called out McGregor and Tony Ferguson. He was ready to fire back with a post of his own and now the two fighters are trading shots online for the world to see.
Bloody Elbow Writes:
While Nurmagomedov has been inactive as of late, fighting just three times in the past three and a half years, McGregor hasn’t fought in the Octagon in over a year and has yet to defend his lightweight title. The Irishman spent most of 2017 hyping a mega-boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr., a fight which he eventually lost via 10th-round TKO at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena this past August.
McGregor, who has hinted at coming back to MMA for a ‘true fight’, is currently trying to iron out a new contract with the UFC and wants to be paid his worth. Nurmagomedov, 29, has opted to fight McGregor and Ferguson on the same night.
I thought about sharing some of the content and insults being traded by these guys, but most of it is NSFW, so I’ll let you take to Twitter and see for yourself.
