A BIG congrats to UFC Fighter – Aljamain Sterling for earning his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt!
UFC Fan-favorite bantamweight Aljamain Sterling has reached a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu milestone! Many practitioners and competitors take 10-15 years to accomplish this milestone so its safe to say its fairly tough. To make this an even bigger milestone, Aljamain was awarded his much-coveted BJJ Black Belt by Professor Matt Serra according to a post on his official Instagram on Sunday! Matt Serra is another famed UFC fighter and former champion in his own right.
“What a journey it has been to reach this point as a BJJ player,” Sterling wrote. “I’m so competitive against myself in everything that I do, that words really can’t explain how much receiving a BJJ black-belt from sensei [Matt Serra] means to me. As I heard my name being called, I instantly felt the waterworks rushing to my eyes! (I was able to fight them off with a Kimuras and leglocks).”
Great job in being such an inspiration to all of the aspiring fighters, BJJ practitioners and people who dare to do something great, Aljamain! We at Aces Jiu Jitsu Club salute you!
